Escrow
Money held safely until both sides agree the deal is done.
With escrow the buyer's money is set aside at the start. The seller can see it is there but cannot spend it yet.
When the agreed condition is met, the money is released. If something goes wrong, either side can open a dispute and a decision is recorded.
Also called: hold my money until delivery, protected payment.
